Don’t let other people define who you are.

Too many people I know let other people’s opinions of them define who they are. They accept the label given to them by people who don’t understand them, who don’t know them, who aren’t them! It ruins them from within. Slowly but surely I see that person become a shell of what they once were. Lose all the qualities that made them who they were and made them unique because others had an opinion.

No one was put here on this earth to be someone they’re not. To meet someone else’s idea of “perfection”.

I’ve seen so many people doubt themselves because life gets too much sometimes. They constantly compare themselves to other people and worry themselves over it. They doubt their skills because of one setback. They fear their future because in that short moment their feelings take over.

If you find yourself losing who you are or constantly trying to change without even wanting to then please distance yourself from the people putting you down. Get away from the people who can’t handle all the things that make you unique and make you amazing!

You really are who you spend your time with, as Jim Rohn said “You are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with.”

Go out there and find people who don’t want to change you, who accept and love you, who lift you up rather than put you down.

Most importantly spend some time with yourself. Get to know yourself and who you are. Find out what your likes and dislikes are. Go on dates by yourself and just love yourself because you are truly special. There literally is no one like you on this Earth, there never has been and there never will be!

Life is too short to let someone else take control. Life is too short to constantly feel trapped in your own skin. Be who you are. Do what you want to do. Embrace the life you’ve been given. Most importantly – relax, things may not look great now but that doesn’t mean they’ll never improve.
